Part of the Sweden & Martina range includes series 300 needles in an even more resistant steel, treated with a particular hardening process that gives them a “burnished” finish. The “black” needle ensures greater resistance values and better penetrability. The burnishing of the surface also makes them easy to see even in bleeding sites. Black needles are fitted with non-absorbable synthetic threads: SOFILUM, POLISOFT, POLIMID, POLINYL.
The non-traumatic nature of Sweden & Martina needles is given by the special morphology of the tail of the needle “with closed channel”, through which the thread is joined perfectly to the centre of the needles, with maximum reduction of the “step” between the margin of the needle and the start of the thread.
Besides the classic half-circle and cutting needle, the Sweden&Martina range includes the TAPERCUT needle with a rectangular tip and cylindrical body, flattened at the side for easy grip.
SILK, non-absorbable suture of natural origin (silk) with a braided structure coated with a thin micro membrane of silicone, black in colour. Natural, exceptional manageability and softness.
SOFILUM, polyester suture braided and coated with a micro membrane of PTFE, extremely versatile and with excellent waterproof properties thanks to PTFE which reduces bacterial infiltrations to a minimum; POLISOFT, braided polyester coated with a thin micro membrane of green silicone, extremely uniform gauge, non-capillary surface; POLIMID, the exceptional “pseudo-monofilament” in polyamide 6 composed of twisted filaments and coated with a sheath of black polyamide, high resistance, easy to knot; POLINYL, monofilament in polyamide 6, black.
MONOSOFT Non-absorbable PTFE monofilament
Monosoft is a non-absorbable PTFE thread, white (undied). Soft and easy to be handled like silk and resistant to bacterial infiltrate typical of the monfilament threads, the PTFE sutures are used in implantology and periodontal surgical procedures where the bacterial infiltration and the possible inflammation are to be avoided.
RESORB and RESORB FAST, synthetic structures in polyglycolic acid, violet in colour, respectively with medium (90 days) and fast absorption (42 days).
