PERI-SET

Surgical treatment of peri-implantitis. An effective and repeatable approach to managing peri-implantitis

Peri-implantitis is the most serious biological complication that can affect an osseointegrated dental implant following prosthetic restoration
PERI-SET developed to address defects caused by peri-implantitis in a targeted and reproducible manner, enabling the regeneration of hard and soft tissues and ensuring the long-term stability of clinical outcomes.

From clinical experience to daily practice

PERI-SET develops from the collaboration with Dr. Giuseppe Corrente and Dr. Roberto Abundo (Adjunct Professors at the University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A.), who have developed effective and reproducible treatment protocols for managing complex cases of peri-implantitis. Radiographic follow-up over a period of up to 6 years demonstrates the real possibility of regenerating stable and functional tissue over time.

A complete system
for decontamination and regeneration

Surgical treatment of peri-implantitis requires the complete removal of pathogens and damaged tissue, and restoration of the implant surface to make it compatible with the surrounding tissue again. PERI-SET was developed to make this process reproducible and clinically predictable.

The kit contains:

  • Single-use nickel-titanium brushes, pointed and with open bristles, for deep cleaning of the threads;
  • Diamond bur and disc, ideal for the implantoplasty phase;
  • Red and green flame pads for polishing and final finishing;
  • Sterilizable stainless steel tray with tilting base for improved working ergonomics.
Scientific reliability and international consensus

PERI-SET was presented and discussed at the International Brainstorming Meeting on Peri-implantitis (Montegrotto Terme, 2014). This meeting led to a Consensus Paper published in the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants (Canullo et al., 2015), which redefined the etiological criteria and risk factors associated with peri-implantitis.

PERI-SET: clinical precision,
long-lasting results

A system designed to provide effectiveness, safety, and control at every stage of the surgical treatment of peri-implantitis. PERI-SET allows clinicians to work with clear protocols, specialized instruments, and results supported by scientific literature.
